Celebrating Our 2025 Kadomatsu Class
We were thrilled to close out the year with our 2025 Kadomatsu class — and what an inspiring day it was! A heartfelt thank you to all the students and volunteers whose enthusiasm and creativity made this workshop truly special. Kadomatsu is a meaningful Japanese New Year tradition that welcomes good fortune and the Toshigami (New Year deity), and we were honored to share that cultural heritage together.
A special shout-out goes to our longtime instructor, Merle G., who first taught this workshop back in 1985 and shared rich insights into the history and significance of kadomatsu and its role in preserving cultural traditions. We also extend our gratitude to Jonathan Masaki for capturing and sharing the story of our class and the importance of keeping these traditions alive.
This workshop was the perfect way to close out 2025, and we’re excited to carry this momentum into the new year. Stay tuned for our upcoming 2026 workshop announcements!
